SB 578 -- CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY IN PLATTE COUNTY

SPONSOR:  Shields (Schaaf)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 12 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey a tract of land owned
by the state in Platte County, commonly known as Trimble
Microwave Relay Site.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is necessary for the
state to transfer ownership of a microwave facility that is no
longer needed.  The Internet now takes care of the functions the
facility once provided.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Shields.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
